Individual Psychotherapy

Therapy can be a space to expand your sense of yourself. While a specific problem may bring you to therapy, I believe that my patients are often helped by gaining insight into (and ultimately, mastery over) long-standing patterns in their relationships, feelings, or behaviors. This approach helps to create lasting change.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults who have a variety of concerns. My patients struggle with shame, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I specialize in treating individuals struggling with unresolved trauma. I have a special interest in working with gifted teens and their families, as well as parenting and women's issues, including fertility challenges and navigating mood shifts during pregnancy and postpartum.

Together, we will explore how early experiences in your life have influenced your present-day life and relationships. We will work collaboratively to understand your movement and experience in the world, and begin by making what may feel unsayable sayable.

While some patients benefit from once weekly therapy, many benefit from meeting more frequently. Meeting more frequently allows for us to deepen your treatment and greater self-understanding.

Supervision & Case Consultation

I provide ongoing clinical supervision and case consultation to clinicians who work from a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic framework.

Fee

I am an out-of-network provider for most insurance companies. I will provide you a letter of receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. After a deductible is met, many insurance companies will reimburse between 60-80%.

Because every plan is different, I recommend that you contact your health insurance company and learn what your mental health out-of-network benefits are.

The following questions would be useful to ask your health insurance company when you call to give you a better sense of what you will be reimbursed/paying:

  • Do I have mental health out of network benefits?

  • If so, what is the deductible? The treatment is individual psychotherapy. (CPT code: 90834).

  • Is there a limit to the # of sessions per week? Per year?

  • Once the deductible is met, what % of the fee does [Cigna] reimburse me?

  • Where on [Cigna’s] website do I find the reimbursement form that I need to submit?

I am committed to making treatment accessible, and work with patients to set a fee that is feasible.
